About

Hey,

My name is Joseph Bartz, and I support people in living more connected to themselves, to others, and to their surroundings.

I have taught and coached professionally since I was 18 years old and have been teaching in 20+ countries.

Over the years, many people have come to me, interested and curious to explore new ways of connecting deeply with life and overcoming personal challenges.

I have helped countless people heal their injuries, reconnect with their physical selves, and experience meaningful shifts in how they see themselves.

My students and I have shared wonderful journeys. Each has their own individual path, yet we always support each other along the way.

In a highly intellectual world, my work focuses on physical experiences—through senses, feelings, and movement.

I have gathered and created a wide variety of exercises, experiences, and tasks designed as a framework for self-exploration in this world.

I believe it is important to offer an alternative to the forces that numb us, rush us, and separate us from ourselves.

We need to reflect deeply on the challenging aspects of our society—and free ourselves from them.

Let's do it!

Ideas I Live By:

You are not a robot.

Everyone has their own individual path. We don't need to blindly copy others or follow orders. We can truly be ourselves.

We can act from within.

Each of us has creative energy, often hidden by social pressures.
This energy allows us to create art, run across fields, climb rocks, sing, and laugh freely.

You don't have to prove you are worthy.

Society often tells us we must prove our worth through achievements like degrees, wealth, or outperforming others.
Your worth is not decided by societal expectations.

Love, not competition.

We have been taught to compete against each other. If competition drives your life, you risk losing touch with yourself.
Love, empathy, and cooperation offer a much richer way of living.

We are stuck in time.

People are putting too much focus on achieving things fast.
Live less focused on counting hours and days and you will open doors to experiences that cannot be rushed.
The practice I offer takes 200 years to complete.

Short Bio:

Born in Rostock, Germany, in 1991—a city on the Baltic Sea, where I spent much time on the beach.

Part of the last generation to experience life without computers and mobile phones at home, though I learned to use computers quite early.

Mother: theatre actress. Father: composer. Theatre played a significant role in my upbringing.

Grew up in an eastern bloc plate building. This shaped my dislike for modern architecture (Gropius, Le Corbusier, Bauhaus), and my appreciation for traditional materials like wood and natural stone.

Attended Waldorf school from first to twelfth grade.

Regularly skipped school to climb trees. My last school years were challenging as I desired more freedom.

Began martial arts at 13 and parkour at 15, both were sparking broader interests.

Experienced my first wilderness survival course at 18, based on Indigenous American teachings, profoundly changing my life. I attended many more courses afterwards.

Moved to Berlin at 18, immediately starting my own training business.

Studied with various teachers in fields like somatics, movement, and natural living—some well-known, others not.

Worked previously with ParkourONE (Head Coach), MovNat (Certification Instructor), and Ido Portal (Workshop Teacher).

Taught over 4000 people from 6 continents. Taught workshops in 20+ countries.

Always self-employed, never employed by anyone.

Father of two wonderful children.

Living in Berlin with my children and partner.
